[ She's been trying to unlock the mysteries of makeup. Not that she wants to impress anyone or anything, but she figured Lenny would have comments about it if she doesn't wash her face first. ]

[He's not weird enough to actually be lurking outside their room like a weirdo though right? Maya cracks her door open just slightly and peeks, all full of smoky eyeshadows and fire engine lips and she's not sure if it's working but that's why we do these things in private.]

[Not especially weird, he's just heading up to meet her, it's not as if he's been standing there the whole time. But that does mean that he's just walking down the hallway in time to get a good look at her face and his eyebrows go up a little.]

[This is so not what this is about, but if there's door-slamming and shouting to be had, he's gonna join right in.]

[NOPE SHE IS NOT DIGNIFYING THAT WITH A RESPONSE. Lenny can wait like a proper gentleman until she's scrubbed her face a bit. There's still a hint of pigment at her eyes and mouth when she returns to the door, (who decided "waterproof" should also mean "stays on your face even when you want it to be gone"??) but not quite the explosion there'd been earlier.]

[And they can pretend nothing happened immediately before this right?]

[He nods, not actually commenting on that any more. He sees little reason to tease her over that, it's a learning by doing kind of thing and she's growing up. She can paint her face any which way she wants, even if he couldn't quite keep himself from commenting before.

[She stands aside to let him enter if he feels like it.]

[Leonard does step inside, since she wants him to, turning once he's in her room so he can look at her.]

[He lifts his shoulders in a shrug.] Haven't exactly found a good way to tell anyone yet.

Not to get all Riley on you, but he's the kinda guy who needs a friend now.

No one, really. [For one thing, he doesn't think it's anyone's business, for another most people from where he's from are in the know by now, at least the ones he's closer to.

Well yeah, duh. [What, they only made up now?]

Because the universe wants you to be together.

I don't know about that. Actually, most our lives the world has done whatever it can for us not to be together.

[He frowns for a moment, leaning against the wall.]

We wanna be together. We've been wanting to be together since we met. You can bet that we didn't have parental approval.

[She presses her lips together, and rocks on the balls of her feet innocently.]

I don't know about you, but I don't see any parents around here.

You're right about that.

[And is he ever thankful for that, being turned back into a child for events is bad enough without his father actually being there.]
